In this episode we make a call to our Block builder, Jason Charles, to get his insights into what’s happening, and what the future looks like for renovators in Australia!

With the impacts on freight, and the effects of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, the cost of materials for building and renovation are skyrocketing. The impact is being felt by builders and in turn has to be passed on to their clients.

This week we chat with the gorgeous Nicole Jacobs. She knows property….and style.

What is a ‘Buyers Advocate?’ The first time we saw them was on The Block, so we spend time with Nicole to learn what a buyer’s advocate does, and how they work with clients to secure the right property. Nicole chats about getting the right team to help when purchasing a property, where the market might be going, and we find out that she actually trained for a different profession but loved property and helping people so much she created her own niche!

Spending time with Maxi, we chatted about the early days of Les Girls that led the way for today’s performers, also the days of ‘Drag Magic’ when transformations were mysterious, and what it’s like to express the ‘fabulous’ in yourself.

As Director Of Content and Commercial Integration at Domain - Alice is a well-recognised face across Australia for her insights into real estate and the trends across the market.

Starting her career as a journalist, she’s lived in Paris and New York before returning to Australia where she heads up Domain. From her appearances on The Block to her commentary via news channels Alice knows property and has recently finished her own renovation at home!

This week we have another member of The Block Royalty, contestant coach and mentor - Shelley Craft.

Shelley tells us how she got started in the media industry and how she segued naturally into property and how she is now doing her own Podcast -The Aging Project.

We discovered much that we didnt know about this dynamic, eloquent and fun woman.

After all the business and chaos of Christmas, lockdown and New Year we were hoping to get a little bit of a breather, but it seems that it will be a while before we actually get a chance to take a break for longer than a few hours.

But make hay while the sun shines is the old adage and that is what we are doing.

This week we have sunshine in the form of the eccentric and wonderful Fren family - who you will know best from Channel 9's TRAVEL GUIDES. They are a salt of the earth family and what you see is what you get. No holds barred. We love them.

This week it's the last of our Block guests for a while and we think it is quite fitting to be talking to our very dear friend and builder extraordinaire Jason Charles.

Jason joined us in the Northern Beaches Sydney for a mini break with his wife and to help us to get our heads around our latest RENO.

We covered some pretty interesting territory on The Block but we also tapped Jason for a bit of inside info that only a builder like Jason can give.

Our guests this week are charming and are the full package as you may have discovered from their appearances on Love Island.

One of them could have been a Royal Marine were it not for a bad case of compartmentalism (at least that's what we think its called) and the other one only went and won Love Island.

We know them better as Josh and Luke from The Block, the twins who came second and incidentally helped spark the cheating controversy. No doubt there is more to these guys than meets the eye. This chat is full of revelations.

They were the ‘country kids’ who took on the biggest block on The Block 2021, impressed the judges and the nation, and became our good friends.

Hard work is their ‘thing’, whether it’s renovating or entertaining audiences from Tamworth, Australia to Nashville, Tennessee.

Spending time with Kirsty and Jesse is a delight we’d love to share with you…and what did they think about the auction order??

We are very lucky to have found such good friends on our second time round on The Block.

Ronnie and Georgia are very experienced renovators and just straight forward great human beings. We have a fabulous chat about life, renovations and their experience of The Block this time round. Georgia shares her approach to interior design and how she achieves elegant interiors in a week on The Block, and Ronnie talks about getting to Auction day, and how it the day rolled out.
